Wondercon’s a gathering of comic book fanatics and any anime/cartoon/sci-fi movie related enthusiasts. They had their 25th anniversary event in the heart of the Bay Area just a few weeks ago. I was able to get a quick glance at this epic event (I made it to one of the 3 day line up) and was fascinated by the culture! Good fun, here’s what went down:
Man, already had a feeling that this would be one hell of a event:
Just at the corner of the Moscone Center, the venue, Acura pulled a pretty creative gimmick for awareness – a cross promotion for the upcoming movie, Thor, and their “official” automobiles.
Just look at the stat.
↑Talking about letting your imagination run wild, eh
Ta-da!
↑Not as bad as “Bansam Chaw” when I called in to register for an in-house tour of a biotech lab a while back.
The sanctum. Yeah, that’s how I’m going to call this place for the time being.
Oooh yes, you know the guy on the far right’s cold as hell. Respect.

I was expecting to see Triumph the dog at this point trolling on everything.
oh snap?!
↑Skinny Rockman/Megaman. The only Rockman I know of the day.
so I had to:

↑Rorschach’s a pretty successful business man. No time for photos.
Kev and Jamie! All here snapping photos and capturing a piece of Wondercon.
Brandon and the [PMBQ Fam].

There are plenty of things to check out, I sorta just categorize them into 2, one of which is “The Vendors.” Time to see some innovative products, table setting, and celebs.
I Heart Guts, Organ plush toys.
↑Remarkable products, who would’ve thought. And nope, I don’t know how and why she did that face, neither.
One of the biggest product line up at the event – Uglydoll.
David and his wife started back in 2001. I first saw Uglydoll back in Kid-Robot stores, now they’re even in MoMa and series of assorted retail stores. From the look of the scale of the booth here at Wonderwon, it’s must now be a multi-million toy company. Keep hustlin’.
A big impression:
David showed up to sign people’s Uglydoll, too!
↑Yup, I bought one for the occasion.
BANDAI was in the house!

Nintendo and DC Comics!

The OG Hulk.
Sara Underwood from G4TV – Attach of the show! It still felt surreal that [we were once featured by them].
Capcom was there too – giving pass-byers a try of their latest Capcom vs Marvel 3! It was dope. period.
↑ The guys with the crown was DEVISTATING EVERYBODY out there. Hide yo kids, hide yo wife.

Quick lunch:
Now, the moment everyone’s waiting for. At least this is the reason I pay big bucks for events like these. (Thanks to Brandon for hooking us up for this one)
Super professional! (He’s nailed the funky scent, too)

↑Swag of the troopers.
Blade made an appearance.

Mind blown:
↑so good.
Innovative people showed up with iconic faces of the 21st century:

↑Stop staring.
I found them!

Last but not least, I call it
“Poor Batman’s not invited.”

Good times, good fun.
Very entertaining. See ya next year, Wondercon.
’til next time,
